Wet macular degeneration develops with leaky new blood vessels causing a rapid and significant reduction in eyesight. Medical treatment (not a cure) usually consists of a series of injections to reduce the effects of the harmful blood vessels. The treatments may improve vision or prevent the condition from getting worse.
